The Kode57 is both modern and retro. Its design fits perfectly with the current world of boutique super cars, but the idea of a front-engine roadster harkens back to vehicles like the classic Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa. The vehicle should have no problem with keeping up with everything but the world's top hypercars. because power comes from a Novitec-tuned 6.0-liter V12 that's good for 692 horsepower and 473 pound-feet.

As Leno notes several times, you can't find a straight line in the Kode57's body. The panels make extensive use of carbon fiber and feature a curvaceous design that's addictive to look at. The longer you stare, the more details can be found. The floating taillight rings are an especially attractive touch.

The Kode57 debuted at the 2016 Quail Motorsports Gathering. According to Okuyama, the design came together over the course of years of conversation over dinners and wine with the client who commissioned it who was possibly boxer Floyd Mayweather.

Ken Okuyama Design only intends to build five units of the Kode57, and production is already underway on the next four units. From there, the firm plans to focus on its next creation – the Kode0 (above). The new model features a far more angular design that takes inspiration from Marcello Gandini styling for the Lamborghini Countach. Underneath the hard edges, the mechanical bits come from the Lamborghini Aventador.
